Happy Christmas Card

This week, I used the Cuteness set from the Strawberry Kisses Christmas Collection.

I put the image of the Christmas card on Ultra Smooth Premium Cardstock.  I used simple masking and  added the image of the cute little dog.  Then I added the words "Happy Christmas" from the Strawberry Kisses set of the same name.

I used my Spectrum Noir pens to color these images.  Here's what I used ...

Dog:  dog's fur - GB1, GB2;  dog's eye - GB8, GB10;  bottom of one paw - GB8; dog's nose - IG8, IG10;  dog's collar, heart on collar, band around head - CR9, DR2;  antlers - TN1
Christmas card - background - TB3;  tree - JG1;  tree trunk - EB7;  heart CR9; base for tree TB9
"Happy Christmas" -  JG1, JG2
I used a gold gel pen for the loop between the collar and heart tag.  And I used one last Spectrum Noir pen, GG1, for the shadow around the dog.

The base of the card started out as a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of green card stock.  I folded this in half and this card has a side fold.  On top of this, I attached a 3 7/8 x 4 7/8 piece of blue card stock.  (I picked this to match the color of the card in the image.)  I attached it 1/8" in from the left, and 1/8" down from the top of the card base.

On top of the blue card stock, I attached a 3 5/8" x 4 5/8" piece of red card stock.  I positioned it approximately 1/4" in from the left, and 1/4" down from the top of the card base.

I trimmed the white card stock down to 3 1/2" x 4 1/2".  I then attached it to the center of the red card stock.  All of the attaching was done with the Extra Strong Permanent Tape Runner.

To finish off this card, I added some gemstones in the lower portion of the front of the card. Please refer to photo for placement.

Hope you enjoyed this card.  I enjoyed making it.

Until next time, I am ever searching for inspiration.

Where Flowers Bloom Card

From the new Mulberry Wood Everyday Collection, (which as of this posting should be released soon) I used the Love You set for this week's card.

I used a 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of Ultra Smooth Premium Cardstock to put 2 main images on.  On that same sheet, I put the sentiment "Where Flowers Bloom So Does Love".  I cut out one main image to  4 5/8" x 2 5/8".

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir pens as follows:

cats - colored with IG1 and shaded with IG2
flowers - used both PL1 and PL2
leaves - used both LG1 and LG3
the ground under the cats - EB2, GB8, and GB10 blended together
the "sky" behind the cats and flowers - BT1 (I went over this area twice)
I used a gold gel pen to color the cat's tag
On the second image, I colored the cats and a few of the flowers in the same manner as on the first image. I fussy cut these out from the second image. I used a stylus to mold the pieces so they would have some dimension to them.

I cut a 4 3/4" x 2 3/4" piece of pale green card stock.  I used Extra Strong Permanent Tape to attach the main colored image to the green card stock.  I used the double-sided adhesive foam on the back of the cut-outs and attached them over the same images on the main colored image.

Close-up of added pieces and Stickles

I cut out the sentiment to 2 7/8" x 7/8".  I cut another piece of the pale green card stock to 3" x 1".  I attached the sentiment to the green card stock with the Extra Strong Permanent Tape.

I used the tape again to attach both pieces of the light green card stock to a 5" x 4" piece of lavender card stock.  (See photo for placement.)

The base card was made from a piece of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" white textured card stock.  It was folded in half.  The fold will be on top of this card.  I centered the lavender piece on the base card and taped it to secure.

To finish off this card, I used Pink and Thistle Stickles on the flowers.

I had fun making this card.  I hope you enjoyed it too.

Until next time, I am ever searching for inspiration.

A really quick card!!!

I love the new Crafter's Companion  Snowfall Acetate!!  This quick and easy card was the first thing I made with it.

Please understand that this card will look so much better in person.
I don't take pictures of shiny things very well.
I used a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of the Luxury Centura Pearl Snow White Cardstock.  I folded it in half so the card will have a side fold.

On a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of dark blue card stock, I placed one large and several small snowflakes from a set of silver Let It Snow - Peel Off Stickers.  I also placed the "Let it snow" word stickers from that set toward the bottom right-hand corner of the card stock.

I cut a piece of the Snowfall Acetate to 3 3/4" x 5".  I placed it on top of the blue card stock, held them firmly together, and punched a 1/8" hole in the top left hand corner.  (About 1/2" down from the top and about 1/2" in from the left side.)  I placed a fancy rhinestone brad in the hole and flipped the "legs" out flat.

I used the Extra Strong Permanent Tape to attach the blue card stock (with attached acetate) to the front of the card base.

How much easier could you get??

I just love a quick and easy card!

Until next time, I am ever searching for inspiration.

Remembering My Mom

I put this 8" scrapbook page together recently when I was trying to come up with a project on which to use my colored image.

The background is a 8" x 8" piece of medium yellow card stock.  On top of this, I placed a piece of lighter yellow card stock that I'd embossed with the new Die'sire 6" x 6" Floral Frenzy embossing folder.  I trimmed this piece down to about 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square.  I attached it to the base card stock (as a diamond shape) with the Extra Strong Permanent tape.

I backed my Mom's picture with a black piece of card stock.  I attached this to the scrapbook page with the  Extra Strong Permanent tape along the bottom and part of the way up the sides.  At the top are pieces of double sided adhesive foam.  I did this to make the page not quite so "flat".

I ran a piece of the lighter yellow card stock through the printer.  I printed out the sentiment in an orange color to match my colored image.  I cut it where it was wider at the left side than it was at the right.  I notched the left end.  I placed this on the page, just covering the bottom of the picture.  Again, I used the permanent tape (toward the skinnier end) and the adhesive foam (on the thicker end) to attach the cut out to the page.

On a piece of Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock, I put the image of the girl from the Humphrey EZMount set - Birthday Girl.  I used simple masking and then placed the image of the bouquet of roses from the Humphrey EZMount set - Flowers For You to look like the girl was holding them behind her back.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers along with other alcohol markers to color the girl image.  After the image was colored, I cut it out leaving a tiny margin of the white card stock.  I attached this to the scrapbook page, over the end of the sentiment and covering a small part of the bottom right-hand corner, with the permanent tape.

I was really pleased with the way this turned out.  My Mom loved flowers.

Until next time, I am ever searching for inspiration.
