Love Card

Hello all!  I'm back again with this month's project for A Creative Need.  This month is all about weddings and anniversaries.  I've used two of the three recently released digital stamps for the month of September.  The first stamp I'm using is the Cross with Intertwined Hearts. I printed it out on card stock that accepts coloring with Copic markers.  I trimmed it to 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".   I'm also using the flowers from the Hearts and Flowers image.

I used mostly Copic markers for my coloring.  For the cross, I wanted to make it look like burl wood, so I used E18, E57, and E59.  I scribbled all three colors around on the "front" of the cross.  I used only E59, for the other wooden part of the cross.

In the hearts, I used Pentel Sunburst Metallic Gel pens in silver and gold.

I then put a bit of B000 around the sides and top of the cross.  This was to add just a bit more color to the image.

I cropped the flower sections of the Hearts and Flowers images and printed them out.

I only colored two flower sections.  I used RV52 and RV55 for the flower petals.  I used YG03, YG13, and YG61 on the leaves.  Then, I fussy cut them out with a craft knife.  I left some leave attached and cut others off of the floral motif.

I used some liquid adhesive to add the flowers and leaves to the cross. Please refer to the picture for placement.

I added a bit of "grass" to the bottom of the cross so that it wouldn't seem to be floating around in mid-air.  I used the same three colors of green as I'd used on the leaves.

I dug out my rub-ons and added the word "Love" at the bottom.

Next, I got out a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of brown card stock.  Also, and extra piece brown that would allow for a tiny border around the main image piece.  I also used a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of card stock that coordinated with the flower colors.

I used adhesive and layered the coordinating card stock to the top of the brown card; and the colored image on top of the extra piece of brown card stock.  Next, I layered the bordered image onto the coordinating card stock.

The last thing I did was to add a few drops of Buttercup colored Liquid Pearls in the centers of the flowers.

Hope you like this card.  If you do, maybe it will inspire you to join the September Challenge.

Until next time, I am ever searching for inspiration.
