What about this weather? I say, "Spring ... Come on down"!
For February's A Creative Need project, I made a Valentine card. I used the Love Birds digital image. I printed the image on some mixed media paper.
I then used my Prismacolor pencils to color the image. I also used a white gel pen around the beaks and the eyes. For the background colors, I used chalk.
I cut the paper with the image to 4" x 3 1/4". I wrote the phrase on it. Then, I went around the edge of the paper with a black marker. I centered this on a 4 1/2" x 3 3/4" piece of green card stock. All layers were attached with double-sided adhesive.
The green card stock was then attached and centered on a 4 5/8" x 3 7/8" piece of black card stock. And next onto a 4 3/4" x 4" piece of red-orange card stock.
I attached this stack of layers to the front of a top-fold card base. The base was made from speckled card stock. Please refer to the photo to see that I placed the layers to the left side of the card.
I checked out my stash of Washi tape and found a nice green one with ferns. I placed a piece of it down the right side of the card.
I still felt like the card need "just a little something else". I dug into my stash of paper flowers. I found the peachy colored one that went with my colors, but that was all. So I picked out two more white ones that would layer nicely with the peach one. I colored them with Copic markers. Then I used a coordinating brad to keep them together. I attached them to the bottom right corner of the card with some glue dots.
I hope you like this months project!!
