Hello all! This month, my project for A Creative Need is a yummy card.
To make this card, I inserted the A Creative Need "Celebrate with Cupcakes" image and the "Serving Cupcakes" image into the document..
I cropped the "Celebrate" image to about 5.5" by removing the bottom portion of the image. I inserted the same image into the document again. This time, I cropped the image, by removing the top portion, leaving the image about 3.5".
I then removed the backgrounds from the three images. I reduced all three images by 50%. The "Serving" image should be copied and placed in the document again. You will be needing the center cupcake from that image.
The three images above were "stacked" together to form a two-tiered serving dish.
Before printing, I added my text under the cupcake image.
I colored the image using Copic Markers, colored pencils, glitter pens and a gel pen.
I used BG10 on the 2-tiered serving plate. I also added some colored pencil for some darker areas.
The top cupcakes' liners were colored with V04. Also colored pencil shadowing. the icing on those cupcakes was done with two similar colors of lavender colored pencils. The cherries were colored with a red glitter pen. The highlight was done with a white gel pen.
The bottom cupcake liners were colored using a BV04 marker. The icing was colored with RV52 and RV63. The hearts were colored with a pink glitter pen. Remember to color the middle cupcake on the additional image in the same manner as the other bottom tier cupcakes. Fussy cut this extra cupcake.
Use double-sided foam adhesive to attach the cupcake to the image.
Use the C00 to make shadows around images.
I used a Sharpie Pen (not Marker) to draw a line to "anchor" the serving dish . I also used it to add hand-drawn double lines to frame the image and text. See picture for placement of these lines.
Be sure to stop by and check out the A Creative Need monthly challenge. This month's challenge is a color challenge. Make a project using blue, yellow and pink. Here is a photo for inspiration:
Until next time, I am ever searching for inspiration.
